Stephen Proctor

Stephen Proctor founded his practice, with Andrew Matthews, in London in 1988. Stephen has lectured and taught extensively in schools of architecture in both the UK and abroad, has been a design tutor and senior lecturer at the Universities of Sheffield and Brighton, and was external examiner to the Universities of Sheffield and Kent. He is currently a visiting professor at the University of Sheffield.

Stephen is a member and past chair of the RIBA Housing Group, has been a member of the RIBA/ARB Validation Panel for Schools of Architecture, and recently contributed to the RIBA Future Homes Commission. He was a member of the Mayor of London’s Housing Design Guide Advisory Panel.

Stephen is a member of the Design Review panels at A&DS (Architecture and Design Scotland), DSE (Design South East), Brighton and Hove and Maldon in Essex. He is also an academician at the Academy of Urbanism and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
