Aki Mizobuchi

Aki Mizobuchi studied at Tama Art University in Tokyo, Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College (now known as Bucks New University ) and the École Boulle in Paris. 

A recognised expert in the field of Urushi and Japanning, Aki has many years of experience in restoration, conservation and designing and making commissioned works of furniture and art objects. She has developed her own techniques using both traditional Japanese methods and English craftsmanship and incorporating a modern approach.  After a successful career in some of the principal restoration companies in the UK, Aki is now leading her own arts business, Saltram Conservation.
