Sally Mangum

Sally Mangum came to London after completing a degree in History of Art at Mount Holyoke College. After beginning work as a freelance calligrapher in 1994, commissions have gradually expanded to heraldic art, manuscript illumination and illustration.

Retaining a strong interest in traditional skills for calligraphy, illumination and heraldic commissions, Sally enjoys working with hand-ground inks, gold leaf, paints and vellum and arms herself with a tin of sharpened pencils, antique drawing instruments and hand-dipped pens with vintage nibs.
