Jeremy Jessel

Jeremy Jessel studied at Corsham and with S.W. Hayter in Paris, and has lived and worked in Vancouver, Tokyo and, for two years, painted in a tin shack up a Welsh hillside, before returning to London to paint and teach. 

Some years ago he took time out from painting to restore forty eight acres of neglected but beautiful farmland in North Devon, and this became the emotional and intellectual wellspring for a series of abstract collages exploring memory through colour and form.   He says he started working in collage as he has too many ideas to wait for paint to dry.
