Nicholas Hughes

Nicholas Hughes is an artist working in handmade wallpaper and illustration.

He designs, carves and prints wallpapers that marry story telling and drawing by hand to craftsmanship. By designing through process his distinctive hand block printed patterns are fresh yet familiar, adding to the rich tradition of block printed wallpaper. His papers have been used in homes and hotels around the world.

His illustration work for commercial clients has included: enormous printed murals, inky drawings, amusing hand drawn maps and seasonal ranges imagined in block print and pen and ink.

He designs and makes from his London studio.
